From Kilimanjaro

Are You Really Ready for 5,895 Meters?

Anthony Lorubbio just climbed Kilimanjaro to test the one thing every training plan leaves out. Join his live workshop to find out what it is — before your own climb.

What Nobody Tells You Before You Book

Every guide will tell you to train your legs, build your cardio, break in your boots, etc.

Almost nobody tells you to train the thing that actually decides whether you turn around at 18,000 feet: the missing piece as we call it.

At 5,895 meters, the air holds roughly half the oxygen it does at sea level. Fitness gets you to basecamp. Whether your body can handle that drop in oxygen is a different question entirely — and it's the one most climbers never think to ask until they're already on the mountain.

I Just Tested This on Myself

I climbed Kilimanjaro to find out if the training actually holds up — not in theory, but at altitude, on the mountain, with everything on the line. In this live workshop, I'm walking through exactly what I found: what my own data showed before and during the climb, what the training predicted correctly, and the one piece of preparation that made the difference between struggling and staying in control.

What Others Are Saying

"Anthony's workshop changed how I think about expedition preparation. The physiology is clear, and the practical application is real. CO2 tolerance, respiratory muscle fatigue, oxygen management under stress – all show up above 6,000m. I recommend this workshop to anyone heading to altitude, whether it's their first trek or their fifth summit attempt."

"Great workshop. I particularly enjoyed the clear explanations of the physiology, as well as practical tests. I recently guided a trek to Everest Base Camp and over the Cho La, and used some of the techniques during my training and again on the trek."

This Isn't About Success Rate Statistics

You'll see plenty of operators advertise their summit success rate. Some of those numbers are real. Some aren't independently verified by anyone.

That's not really the question anyway. The question is what your body does at altitude — and that's not something a success rate statistic can answer for you. It's something you can actually train for.
